I love the look it gives and the
scent of greenery...the outdoors inside.
makes me a hippie again...

other day...can I keep it...
this is totally the look I swoon over
for my pink shack...
and it has great bones to construct
the look I want, the den of the
naturalist, with the spoils of Nature
of my skulls and oddities...
I scavenge old bones n skulls,
perfectly displayed in the silverware drawer.
store to fill spaces, but now that the shop is full,
I will bring the strays home,
like this library table, until
such a time that they will need to move on...
but that's half the fun of it...and right now,
this is the way it is.

pink and frilly inside...
a dusty, ancient feel to it...but...
that doesn't mean it doesn't have dust...
I mean ambiance!
'cause tomorrow, any one piece can be for sale.
and thorn in my side(terrier)
life at the lil' pink shack
is anything but normal...is good???

Step into me parlor...errrr garage...
my downstairs bedroom has been
converted...I just attached this old
screen door to the grooming room,
to keep the dogs in and my
heathen out...AND it will also
keep the hair from blowing
into the rest of the house...
you have no idea how huge my
dust bunnies are, more like dust yetis!
Step into my parlor, grooming that is...
Scratchy hates this room, but I love
being able to work out of my home.
35 years of driving into the city
to my grooming shop, working from
7:30 to 6:00 every day M-F
took it's tole on my sanity.
I just downsized the grooming nook
with a precut counter top attached
to an old desk, drawers are perfect
to hold blades, scissors n stuff, keeping
table clear for four wiggly paws.
I love the crates, easy to clean out,
just throw in the tub and bleach.
Scratchy's condo is the gray one...
I'm in the middle of organizing
this space, this is the interior
garage where I work when it starts
to freeze outside...you have no
idea what fun stuff comes outta this
taxidermy supplies on bottom shelf...
this is also where I paint furniture
in the winter...you have no idea how
many pieces have rolled outta
this room. I have a ramp on my
front porch making it uber easy
to load and unload.
This used to be my grooming table,
but now it makes a perfect space
to repair frames, make birdhouses,
body part wind chimes and
"Cracked in the Head" nightlights...
yes, this is the ugly truth, yes it looks a
mess, but I know where all my
supplies are, screws, washers, clamps...
it's all in 'the parlor'...
Doggy Style and The Wild Thing,
the in house sweatshop....
let's not go to the kitchen.
I'll do that next week after I cover
everything with soap molds...
more orders to fill,

Again, I'm pushing the limits,
I'm cozying things up for winter.
I wanted a small table to work
on jewelry in my living room, I
found this lil' drop leaf desk,
just perfect for this lil' nook...
then I found this really cool minnow
sane and draped it in the stair well,
it fits with the fish theme up the stairs...
I love old statues of women, they're
great to hang necklaces from...
but when it all boils down...
I heart strange, over the top
and on the edge...
are there any other brave souls out there?

I love it when the lilies begin to bloom...
and the wild prairie coneflowers,
monarda and milkweed color
up the place...
the weather this year has sure been tough
on the gardens, early heat, late, late frosts,
then drought, last year my wild
turks cap lilies were two feet taller...
gonna have some decorative gourds
covering my buggy, I think they'll make
a really cool canapy, with the gourds
hanging like ornaments...
and doesn't every homestead need zinnias...
yup, that's what I thought,
a day in the life!
